Media Powerhouse was founded in 2007, with a background deeply rooted in both live events and systems integration. The company has been able to bridge both marketplaces, giving a unique insight and ability to take feedback from both rental and installation clients and adapt to the latest technologies and trends.
The group was formed to bring like-minded businesses and people together to service all elements of the Audio Visual and Large-Scale Print industries. Whilst the businesses that currently make up the group are in three very distinct markets, there is crossover between all three.
The group has expanded several times over the years to include:
Media Powerhouse Rental provider of hardware and services for the live event market, focusing on the five key areas of rental – Video, Audio, Lighting, Staging and Rigging.
Media Powerhouse Sales and Install provider of audio visual design, sales, installation, and maintenance services across all sectors including Broadcast, Corporate, Themed Entertainment, DOOH, Venues and Education
The Creative Place provider of large scale print services to both the rental and permanent sectors.

Media Powerhouse Sales and Install provide design, supply, installation and programming services to all market sectors where a permanent AV / broadcast solution is required. We also have a dedicated maintenance team who can look after your AV system, no mater how small or large.
Michael Breen – Executive Chairman
Michael has been involved at Director level in the Audio Visual and Broadcast Presentations business for the last 31 years.
Having started his career as an accountant, it quickly emerged that his interests lay in assisting businesses that were looking to grow or sell. It was inevitable that he would ultimately be drawn to direct involvement with one or other of the companies that crossed his desk, and so in 1989 he was asked to prepare the business plans that led to the formation of Blitz Communications, a business that he joined as Finance Director.
In 1996 Michael oversaw the process of selling Blitz Communications to Visual Action Holdings PLC at which time he became Chief Executive and took responsibility for a number of associated companies including Samuelson Communications, TP Sound Services, Interactive Television, Astonics, Charter Broadcast and Cine Video, with offices in Europe, USA, Singapore and Australia. In 2003 Blitz Charter Group Ltd was formed and became the Holding Company for those Companies that he had responsibility for. Michael has held the reins of the Media Powerhouse Group since its formation in 2007.

Rashid Chinchanwala – Finance director
Rashid is a founding member in the Media Powerhouse group and its Finance Director. An engineering graduate from Imperial College, London, he originally gained his ACA qualification with Price Waterhouse before forging a career in media, working in sectors as diverse as video duplication, film & TV production, market research, CGI and audio visual services.
In 2006, Rashid met Michael Breen and Alan MacDonald when Blitz Charter had a requirement for an interim Finance Director. It soon became clear that they would form some very good and trusted working relationships and when the opportunity came to start a new AV business in 2007, he jumped at the chance to get involved from the start.
Rashid is responsible for Finance, Administration, IT and HR across the group and has a team of 5 reporting into him. He manages all relationships with financiers, IT and professional advisers and works closely with colleagues to improve profitability and manage cashflow. Outside of work, he is a keen golfer and sports lover and was recently appointed to Chair of Governors for a prep school.

Alan Macdonald – Managing director
Alan started his career with the Samuelson group of companies back in 1985, moving onto Blitz in 1989 where he spent 18 years in both the event rental, sales and installation areas of the business. Alan started Media Powerhouse in 2007 with a colleague from Charter Broadcast concentrating initially on the systems integration market place. Media Powerhouse soon evolved to offer a comprehensive event rental service to its portfolio and has grown from strength to strength since then.
Alan has played an integral part in building the business to what it is today and has been responsible for growing an enviable client list , As Managing Director at Media Powerhouse, Alan will use his invaluable knowledge of the AV industry to move Media Powerhouse through the next stage of its growth.
